Dr. Focko F. G. Rommerts has studied biochemistry in Utrecht after which he moved to Rotterdam where he until recently worked as associated professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, Erasmus MC.
His research focus has been in these years on the biochemical regulation of Leydig cell development and function in the testis. Beside this work he has become more and more involved in the last ten years in the biochemical background of love (what makes that two individuals feel attracted to each other). Focko has presented guest lectures on this subject at national and international meetings where he combines basic science with the emotional background of love.
