Co-referee: Prof. Akke van der Zijpp, Animal Production Systems Group, Wageningen University

Livestock has an important role in the soil-crop-livestock cycle of nutrients. Livestock is also important for diversification of production systems, as livestocks products provide added value and cash income for small farmers. Prof. Giller will presents results of the AfricaNUANCES framework illustrating some opportunities for successful livestock integration.

Zodiac academic lectures are an initiative of the Department of Animal Sciences, Wageningen University. On every first Tuesday of the month, an invited speaker will present a topic related to animal sciences. Speaker and topic will, and are meant to, provoke discussion among the audience of staff, postdocs, PhD and MSc students, and guests. Drinks after the presentation and discussion.

Next Zodiac Lectures are: 7 Mar, 4 Apr, 2 May and 6 Jun.
