 During the last two decades, societal concerns on food safety have grown due to a number of food quality incidents. This research addresses success factors of supply chain integration and quality management that contribute to food quality and ultimately to firm performance in the pork processing industry in China. The explorative study also pinpoints the important role of an innovation directed competitive strategy in the relationship between quality management and firm performance.
