Wageningen University is a part of Wageningen UR (University & Research centre). The mission of Wageningen UR is: "To explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life." We work globally with our knowledge of nature and natural processes, within the domain of ‘healthy food and living environment’ to continually improve the quality of life. Wageningen UR is committed to contribute to the current challenges of this time, such as the availability of enough healthy and safe food, dealing with climate change and developing sustainable energy supplies.

As a consequence of its participation within the broad organisation of Wageningen UR, Wageningen University works closely together with research institutes and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences. There is close interaction between the natural and social sciences disciplines at Wageningen University. This multidisciplinary approach allows Wageningen University to contribute to finding solutions to the challenges the world faces today.
