



Gaining international experience within your study program at Wageningen University is actually a very natural combination. After all, the whole society is getting more and more international. Besides, Wageningen University has an extensive international network at its disposal to facilitate your study abroad.
The University gladly supports its students on their international discoveries. For example, would you like to follow some courses in a lively European capital? Or do you want to do your internship in some exotic place? Or would you like to combine studies and obtain a double degree?
There are almost unlimited opportunities, because Wageningen University cooperates with many organisations and institutions. This site is a good starting point for your orientation.
What are the options?
- You can opt for an internship. For this element it is wise to contact the chair group of your choice. Internships are tailor-made. The chair group can assist you in finding the right combination of scientific elements and your preferred world region.
- You can join in an exchange programme. Wageningen University has access to an extensive network of partner universities in Europe and North-America via European Union (Erasmus LLL-programme) and Euroleague. Opportunities vary from doing some subjects or following a summer course to going abroad for larger study elements.
- There are opportunities for following a so-called double degree-programme. Wageningen University has agreed on some specific programmes with a number of European universities. If you opt for a double degree at one or more international universities, it is possible that you finish your Wageningen programme with a Dutch ànd an international diploma.

Wageningen University has close relations with partners outside of Europe, as well. There are also possibilities to study in South-America or Russia (Erasmus Mundus). In every continent there are a number of bilateral contacts. If you would like to find a place at one of these organisations, these relations are a good starting point to arrange your personal programme.

Bea Jansen is available on Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday from 12:00-13:00 at the FUTURE POINT in the FORUM building (next to the SSC desk) to answer your questions on study abroad.
- Insurance. The student desk might have opportunities for a free travel/luggage insurance.
Financing.
The Erasmus-LLL programme supplies exchange students from EU - going for an exchange within EU - with a Erasmus scholarship. For advice contact one of the departmental exchange coordinators or visit Bea Jansen in the FUTURE POINT on Mo-Thu between 12:00-13:00.
- Studying at an university in Russia can be funded through Erasmus Mundus (contact: Ewa.Wietsma@wur.nl).
- Studying at an university in Asia can be funded through Erasmus Mundus, scholarships are available for Environmental Economics and Natural Resources, but other studies can apply(contact:Justus.Wesseler@wur.nl).
- And the Dutch government has bilateral relations contracts with around 40 countries. These contracts may be the basis for students to follow courses or do research abroad.
