Erasmus Mundus Programmes are joint programmes offered by partner institutions in the member states. The programmes are based on a joint curriculum that is taught by cooperating institutions in at least three European countries. Students from inside and outside the EU can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. You can find more information about these scholarships on the website of the EM-Programme of your choice. Wageningen University currently participates in four Erasmus Mundus Programmes.

Erasmus Mundus in Animal Breeding and Genetics (EM-ABG) Agris Mundus

The EM-ABG concentrates on use of quantitative and molecular genetics for animal breeding purposes. This involves the following concepts:  

  • understanding of and measuring genetic variation (Statistical Genetics)
  • molecular genetics and bioinformatics (Genomics)
  • design and evaluation of breeding programmes (Animal Breeding)
  • understanding of intra-animal biological relationships (other)

The Agris Mundus Masters course objectives are to train you to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animal production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. You will be trained to formulate and provide effective and appropriate responses to complex agriculture and natural resources related issues.
