Wageningen is a university town with about 7500 students; quite an amount for a town with a population of less than 38000 inhabitants.
Wageningen UR has decided to invest in new student accommodation for international students because of growing numbers of students in Wageningen. We have many different categories of students, guest employees (PhD) and visitors. There will be more facilities available as from August 2011.
There are times in the year that the demand for rooms is higher than we can offer. Wageningen University arranges temporary housing for those students that have a room guarantee. Please note that in some periods it can take up to several months before a permanent room is available.
Student housing is organized in a special way at Wageningen University. Student housing is the allocating authority for all international visitors with a room guarantee. Therefore it is not possible for an international visitor to contact Idealis or iNFacilities directly to arrange accommodation.
Short-term visitors (not exceeding one month) will not be provided with a room through housing as a minimum rental period of one month is required.
