Subletting your room.
Every international student may sublet his/her room, but you need to get permission from student housing first. Student housing will only approve your request if the subtenant has a bed guarantee and is therefore part of the target group.
Conditions for subletting your room:
- Subletting is only possible if you do not have rent arrears.
- Subtenant needs to have a bed guarantee! For information about who has a bed guarantee please see our website.
- The main tenant cannot become a subtenant in another Idealis or iNFacilities room.
- the duration of the sublet can only be for a maximum of 6 months, the subtenant cannot be a tenant of an Idealis-or iNFacilities room already.
To make a request for subletting you need to fill out the form and sent it back to student housing. If the subletting is approved student housing will send you an approval by email. Please print this form together with the ‘request form for subletting’, copies of your passports and student cards and take it to iNFacilities or Idealis.
Note that the apartments in Beringhem do not qualify for sub renting.
Room change.
Two months after your start date of rent you can apply for a room change.
Conditions for room change:
- You have to be a tenant of a furnished Idealis or iNFacilities room wishing to move to a furnished Idealis or iNFacilities
- Moving is only possible if you don't have rent arrears.
- You have to fall under the category high priority.
To apply for a room move you need to fill in the form and send it back to student housing. Note; we will only process your application if you have been living in your current room for a minimum of two months.
You will be placed on our waiting list and you will be informed when there is a room available by email.
DO NOT END YOUR OWN RENTAL CONTRACT!
Please note that we will be ending the rental agreement of your current room once you have accepted our offer. You may have to pay extra rent for a couple of days to overlap the end of your contract and the start of your new contract depending on the commencing date of the rental agreement.
Note; there are costs involved with moving to a different room:
- Administration costs
- Cleaning costs (also see rent information)
Room swap.
Conditions for a room swap:
- Room exchange can only happen between rooms that have the same facilities.
(for example: you cannot exchange between a self-contained and a shared room)
- Please note rooms will not be cleaned as it is a direct exchange and happens on the same day.
(We are not accountable for the way the room has been left by the previous owner)
- Swapping is only possible if you both do not have rent arrears.
- You will have to pay administration costs when signing your contract.

Swapping between an Idealis- and INFacilities room? Please fill out the request form and send it back to student housing. Once applied student housing will arrange the exchange with Ideals and iNFacilities.
