To Socrates-Erasmus programme
If you would like to be admitted to the Erasmus-Socrates programme, you should meet the following requirements.
- First condition is the existence of a bilateral agreement between your home university and Wageningen University.
- Furthermore, you should be a citizen of either:
a. EU
b. One of the overseas territories
c. EER
If options a, b and c are not applicable in your case, you may also be admitted if you are recognized as a refugee or stateless citizen by EU or by EER government or if you possess a EU or EER residence permit for indefinite time.
- You should be a regular student, registered at one of the partner universities.
- You should have completed 120 ects.
- It must be the first time for you to receive a Socrates grant.
- You are not allowed to make claims to other grants of EU in the same study period.
- You are required to have a good command of the English language before you arrive, to be able to follow lectures and pass exams in English. The medium of instruction of all MSc-courses is English. If your skills in the English (or Dutch) language are weak, we strongly advise you to upgrade your level before coming to Wageningen. The exchange can only take place if accommodation is available.

To short term exchange, NON Socrates-Erasmus programme
If you are not eligible to the Socrates-Erasmus exchange programme, you may still find an opportunity to arrange a short term exchange yourself.
Wageningen University is linked as a partner to the following non-EU universities. Students from these universities can follow a similar procedure as EU-students. The above mentioned requirements 3, 4 and 7 are applicable for non-Socrates-Erasmus exchange applications.
