How to apply

Application

To LLP Erasmus programme

Before you apply, it is necessary to prepare carefully with the information below. To make a planning you may use the Study Handbook and the Scheduling of courses. Use the link in the menu on the left for the most recent information. Then discuss with your own tutor or study coordinator in your university which course units would be relevant and recognised as a contribution to your own degree programme. Finally, contact the exchange coordinator of Wageningen University of your proposed field of study. Contact details can also be found in the menu on your left. Please, contact only one of them. Let your choice depend on your main subject of study. This coordinator will be your contact in Wageningen. If he or she thinks it better to forward your application to one of the other coordinators, this will be done automatically and – of course - you will be informed.

          Before registration:

  1. Application form
This application form should be completed and returned to the exchange coordinator at Wageningen University to start the procedure for a Socrates-Erasmus exchange request. Look in the menu on your left hand how to plan and select courses at Wageningen University. The names of exchange coordinators at Wageningen University can also be found in the menu on your left. Please note, that Wageningen University only accepts forms in this format that are filled in completely and that are signed and stamped by your university.

  2. Learning agreement
To be able to register as a Socrates-Erasmus student at Wageningen University (WU) there must be a signed ‘Learning Agreement’ between your home institution and Wageningen University. Your home institution sends a Learning Agreement to the exchange coordinator at Wageningen University. This agreement must be signed by you (the student) and by your home university Socrates coordinator. Your home institution should put an official stamp on it.
The WU coordinator also signs and stamps the Learning Agreement. A copy of the agreement is kept until the student arrives and gets registered at WU. Subsequently the original Agreement is returned to the home institution. It may need to be amended and signed again upon arrival. Changes will only be valid when the Learning Agreement has been signed by all three parties and duly stamped by the two institutions involved. If you are not sure if the preliminary selection of courses on the application form is correct, you may wait in sending the learning agreement. Send the learning agreement as soon as your programme is determined.

  3. Transcript of records
The home institution sends a signed and duly stamped Transcript of Records (with the study results before arrival) to the exchange coordinator at Wageningen University, who keeps it with him until the student has arrived. A student who wants to take BSc subjects should have completed 120 ECTS credits before his start in Wageningen. A student who wants to take MSc subjects should have completed at least 150 ECTS credits before he is allowed to start in Wageningen. An explanation of ECTS credits can be found at the bottom of this page.

  4. The student should fulfil the language requirements as laid down by the Wageningen University Board as can be found on the application form (TOEFL 550 minimum).

  5. The exchange coordinator at Wageningen University sends copies of the Learning Agreement and the Transcript of Records to the Student Service Centre. These will be scanned for the file of the student. Without these documents registration is not possible.

    After the period of study:

  6. Transcript of Records
After the period of study at WU, the Student Service Centre can make a Transcript of Records. This is completed with a signature and WU stamp and the student can ask SSC to sent it to the home institution, the student receives a copy of the Transcript of Records.

  7. The home institution sends a ‘Proof of Academic Recognition’ to the Faculty ECTS Coordinator,Mrs. Bea Jansen. This document is kept in the student file at the Student Service Centre of Wageningen University.

Every six months the ‘Proofs of Academic Recognition’ are checked if all have been received by Wageningen University. A reminder is sent to institutions failing to return the Academic Recognitions.
