The Dutch government maintains an admissions policy for foreign nationals planning to come to the Netherlands. All foreign nationals need to go through the Dutch admissions procedures. Admissions procedures also refer to Wageningen UR as a host institution receiving foreign nationals, such as BSc-, MSc- and PhD-students, and exchange students. It also refers to Wageningen UR as an employer for foreign nationals, such as EU fellows, lecturers, researchers etc. No foreign national can be employed without passing these procedures.
PhD Services can at the request of a supervisor start the visa application procedures for a (future) PhD student.
Attention: should you wish to come to the Netherlands with your spouse/partner and/or your children it is obligatory that you discuss this beforhand with your supervisor. In that case not PhD services but the Immigration Helpdesk of your department at Wageningen UR will start the visa application procedures.
For other foreign nationals (not acquiring their PhD degree at Wageningen University) each department has an Immigration Helpdesk that can answer questions and provide help with application procedures.
