General and

Leisure Tourism and Environment
Hi, my name is Pieternel. After graduating in International Tourism Management (NHTV Breda) in 2009, I was lucky enough to get a job offer from my placement company in... New Zealand! I have worked there with great pleasure for the past two years and learned so much, but after a while the study bug returned and I decided to deepen my knowledge in the tourism study field. For me the combination of nature and tourism  is very important, so Wageningen was the place to go. I fully enjoy the international character of our MSc programme and the courses are really interesting, so I made the right choice by coming here.

To find out if doing a MSc programme, and especially the programme Leisure, Tourism and Environment is right for you too, please get in touch. I know how hard it can be, so send me an email on pieternel.studentcoachmle@live.com and I look forward to answering your questions!

Animal Sciences
Hey, I am Marlijn and I am 23 years old.  I study Animal science at the WUR and I am focusing on animal health and behaviour. Right now I am in the second year of my master. This year I have a few more subjects to take and then I can start on my thesis.
Before I came to Wageningen I studied animal husbandry at the HAS in Den Bosch. I graduated there and got my bachelor degree. After this I decided to go to Australia for a year to travel and work. Here I decided that I was not done learning yet, and not ready for working, so I applied for the master in animal science. I do not  want to become a researcher, I decided to go for my Master because I do not want to have limits in what I can do and become in the animal world. And of course I love the freedom of being a student.  I must say I am very happy with my choice and I hope I can help you with your decisions.

If you have any questions about the Master in animal science or if you just want to find out more about being a student in Wageningen, please do not hesitate to contact me by sending an email to: marlijn.studentcoachmas@live.com.

Applied Communication Science
Sabina, student coach Applied Communication ScienceHeeyz. My name is Sabina and I am 23 years old. Currently I am doing my first year of the master Applied Communication Science with a special focus on health and nutrition. I started studying in Wageningen with the bachelor Applied Communication Science, and after graduating this programme with great enthusiasm I decided to stay in Wageningen to do my masters here as well. Finding a study programme that matches your needs can be very difficult, it took me 2 years to find my bachelor programme. There are so many questions that need to be answered before you can decide which programme to follow and where. So if you have any questions that are unanswered about studying Applied Communication Science, living in Wageningen, playing sports or anything else related to studying… please do not hesitate to contact me at sabina.studentcoachmcs@live.com

Forest and Nature Conservation
Hielke, Student Coach for Forest and Nature Conservation (MFN)My name is Hielke, 23 years of age and currently in my second year of the master Forest and Nature Conservation (MFN). I finished my bachelor of Biology at Utrecht University, and have been confronted with the complexity of making choices about my education. What exactly am I good at, what are my interests and which university and master track would suit me best? I opted for Wageningen University and MFN because of its great international character, specialized master programmes and courses, and the ‘green’ atmosphere I feel here. However, everyone has their own personal doubts and thoughts on what MSc programme would be best.

To prevent you from inventing the wheel over and over again, I am most willing to assist you in making these choices. If you have any questions related to the master Forest and Nature Conservation, track specializations, thesis and internship possibilities student life at Wageningen or anything related, please feel free to contact me on hielke.studentcoachmfn@live.com

Health and Society
Eden, student coach Health and Society
My name is Eden and I am 24 years old. I am following the master Health and Society. After finishing my HBO Bachelor Sports, Economics and Communication in Tilburg it was no time to work yet. I wanted to improve myself and get more insight in the field of Public Health in a society. Health is in my opinion one of the most important values for individuals and therefore also for a society. If you are interested in this study and have questions about the program, the step from HBO to University or other questions. Don’t hesitate to contact me! eden.studentcoachmhs@live.com

BiotechnologyIlse, student coach Biotechnology
Hi!
I’m Ilse, 21 years old, enthusiastic windsurfer and road biker, and currently an MSc student at Wageningen University. I have done my bachelor in Biotechnology at Hogeschool van Hall Larenstein in Leeuwarden. Since 2010 I’ve started with my MSc in Biotechnology at Wageningen University.

During my BASc I was constantly looking for ‘the right thing to do’, most of you probably recognise that. Internships were good options to get to know the field that you’re suppose to work after your graduation. After several internships in business environments, I did my thesis project in an academic environment. This last thesis was decisive to do an MSc. Up till now I’m very happy with this decision!

Being a student coach for Biotechnology I would like to help you with making your decision for a job, a second bachelor or an MSc. Also if you have questions about doing BSc courses during your MSc, housing in Wageningen, sports and associations or all other things which have to do with being a student? Don’t hesitate to contact me via ilse.studentcoachmbt@live.com

Development and Rural Innovation
Hello everyone! My name is Sjors and I am 23 years old. After finishing my bachelor Biology in 2010, I was confused what to do in the future. After a lot of thinking, following social courses and conversations with study advisors, I decided to follow the master Development and Rural Innovation (MDR). I knew that I am more interested in the social context in which things happen, so following MDR was for me the best option. You can see MDR as the bridge between natural science and social science. Following this master gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge on natural science placing it in a sociological perspective.

I know that it’s difficult to make ‘right’ study choices and that you as coming MSc student need information about for instance the master, admission, student life and future career. Don’t hesitate to ask me questions!
My email is: sjors.studentcoachmdr@live.com

Earth and Environment
Hi everyone! My name is Yvonne and I am 22 years old. After finishing my bachelor Soil, Water, Atmosphere (SWA) I wanted to specialize in Hydrology. After the bachelor SWA you can choose to specialize in one of the three directions (soil, water or atmosphere). And these three specializations are incorporated in the master Earth and Environment.  For me it was a logical choice to do the master Earth and Environment after my bachelor.

I never had very much difficulty in picking the right study, since I already knew what I wanted to do when I was 12 years old. But because it was a logical choice for me, it doesn’t mean I didn’t have a lot of considerations. And of course I am glad to help you with finding you the master that suits you best too! I can provide you with all kinds of information you need. So please, if there is anything I can do for you, contact me on the following email address: yvonne.studentcoachmee@live.com

Biology

Iris, student coach BiologyHi! My name is Iris, I am 22 years old and I started my MSc Biology at Wageningen University in 2010. I did my BSc Biology here as well and I am still happy with that choice. The MSc Biology is very diverse and has different specialisations. I think the quality of the courses is high and the possibilities for doing your thesis and internship abroad are varied as well.
I can imagine it is really hard to make a choice for a MSc because there are so many opportunities. That is why I would really like to help you if you have any questions or would like some advice. So if you want to know anything about the master, specialisation options, minors, student life, admission, your future career or any other questions; feel free to contact me!
You can always email me on: iris.studentcoachmbi@live.com

Management, Economics and Consumer Studies
Hello my name is Daniëlle and I am 24 years old. Before I came to Wageningen I got my Bachelor degree at the Hotel Management School in Maastricht. I decided to go to Wageningen because I felt that I could do more and I wanted to expand my knowledge on marketing and consumer behaviour. I am following the MSc programme Management, Economics and Consumer Studies. Up to now I really like the programme. As well as Wageningen as a student city.

As a student coach I would like to help you with answering questions you might have about choosing a master at the Wageningen University. I know how difficult this can be. Please send me an e-mail to the following address: danielle.studentcoachmme@live.com.

Climate Studies
Hi everyone! I’m Emma and 22 years old. This September I started with the master Climate Studies at Wageningen University. Before that, I studied Applied Mathematics in Enschede, but last year I discovered that I was also really interested in planet Earth and the environment. To learn about climate and all sorts of climate models, I ended up here. So far, I really enjoy studying the climate. Besides the physical aspects that I especially like, the study is also related to politics, economy and societal interactions with climate and climate change. It’s a broad program where you can really focus on the parts you are interested in.

Before I decided to come to Wageningen it took me a while to figure out what I wanted. So if you have questions, like I had, about the study or just student life in Wageningen, feel free to send me an email on: studentcoachmcl@live.com!

Molecular Life Sciences Henriëtte, student coach Molecular Life Science
Hej! I am Henriëtte, 23 years old. I started with the MSc programme Molecular Life Sciences last year. I have also a Bachelor in Molecular Life Sciences from Wageningen University. However, the choice for another two years in Wageningen was not straightforward for me. I doubted between a more applied study program elsewhere or a more fundamental study, just like in my Bachelors. In the end I decided that a master Molecular Life Science would be best for me.  In this way a started my first research project, which I really enjoyed. At this moment I have still a year left in this programme, ready for more research.
As a student coach I help others with their choice for a master study. I understand that it can be difficult to make a choice that feels right for you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by sending an email to: henriette.studentcoachmml@live.com

Landscape Architecture and Planning Jeroen, student coach Landscape Architecture and Planning
My name is Jeroen, and I am 23 years old. I started studying biology at the VU University in Amsterdam. After finishing my bachelor I started searching for an interesting master that would fit me.
In my search I came across the Landscape Architecture and Planning master at Wageningen University. I found this master very interesting because you learn to use scientific knowledge and your own creativity for designing landscapes. Formerly I learned to do good research in the field of ecology, with this master I was able to make a combination of my scientific interests and my passion for designing.
At this time (after a 2 year bachelor link-program) I already did some master courses, and I’m very happy with the choice I’ve made! Now I learn to solve all kinds of actual problems concerning the landscape, ranging from city squares to whole provinces. Also, I moved to Wageningen to live close to my friends and the university.

Making a choice for a master programme isn’t easy, so I would be happy to help you with making your choice for the right master. If you have any questions about the Landscape Architecture and Planning master, living in Wageningen or the switch between bachelor and master, you can always email me on: jeroen.studentcoachmlp@live.com

International Development Studies
Hello everyone! I’m Nick, 22 years old and currently doing my first year of MSc in International Development. I graduated for my BSC in Anthropology and Development Studies in Nijmegen and for me this Masters programme felt like the best choice. The two year programme, together  with lots of options for specialisation and an internship, gave Wageningen its edge over the other options for me. Whether you are interested in  for example sustainable development, social conflict or development economics, you can find it all here. I find the courses really interesting and teachers are very open to students. Moreover, Wageningen is a place where you’ll meet fellow students from all over the world!
Choosing a Masters programme to is a very important choice, and it’s good to know your options. If you feel like International Development Studies lies in your interest, don’t hesitate to contact me for any questions you might have!

Bioinformatics
Jasper, student coach BioinformaticsHello undecided students! I am Jasper, a 25 year old master student and started in September on my master in Bioinformatics. Before this study I did a Bachelor in biochemistry and found out that the bioinformaticians are taking a big part in research. How they handle large experiments, model big experiments and discovered a lot of interesting things really appealed to me. It is a very broad education and you can always find something that appeals to you in the field of ~omics and beyond. The reason I became a study coach is that a lot of people started asking me, what do you actually do? As no one really understood the concept of a bioinformatics. Thus if you still need answers don’t hesitate to contact me! jasper.studentcoachmbf@live.com

Environmental Sciences and Urban Environmental Management

Imke, student coach Environmental ScienceHi! My name is Imke and I started with the master Environmental Science after finishing my bachelor at Wageningen University. Good quality education, fellow students from all over the world and the enjoyable city had decided me to stay in Wageningen. However, it took quite a while before I was sure which master and specialisation I wanted to go for. There were so many options!

As a student coach I can tell you a lot about studying in Wageningen and my experiences of the Master Environmental Science. Besides, I can also answer your questions about the master Urban Environmental Management . So for any questions regarding these studies, do not hesitate to contact me via: imke.studentcoachmes@live.com.

Nutrition and Health

Floor, student coach Nutrition and HealthHi, my name is Floor and I’m 24 years old. In the summer of 2010 I finished the Bachelor “Nutrition & Dietetics” in The Hague. In September 2010 I started with the Master “Nutrition & Health” in Wageningen. Already at an early stage of my Bachelor I was sure to continue my studies with a Master.  Although this decision was easily made, the choice between the different Master programs was far more complicated since there were several interesting possibilities. Fortunately, with the available information I was able to make the right decision. My Master is very interesting and I like the international atmosphere at the University.

As a student coach,  I would like to help you with all the questions you might have about the Master “Nutrition and Health”, the switch between Bachelor and Master and so on.

Please feel free to ask me everything you want to know about this by sending an e-mail to: floor.studentcoachmnh@live.com

International Land and Water Management
Hi, I am Mieke and 24 years old. I am a master student International Land and Water Management (MIL) in the specialisation of Integrated Water Management. After an unsuccessful year studying Architecture in Delft, I decided to search for something I really liked. I ended up doing the Bachelor International Land and Water Management. Continuing with MIL after my graduation was not straightforward until the moment I did my internship. Three months in rural Rwanda confirmed my enthusiasm about working with people. I really like the integrated and multidisciplinary approach offered in MIL to make the technique function, both in the western World and in developing countries. Here in Wageningen I am at the right place but where do you want to go? If you have any question about the MIL-program, studying in Wageningen or anything else, feel free to contact me. I will be happy to answer your questions! Just send an e-mail to mieke.studentcoachmil@live.com, and I will reply as soon as possible.
