As of the academic year 2011-2012, the statutory tuition fee will consist of either a base rate or a premium rate.
You are eligible for the statutory tuition fee when you meet the nationality requirement, the address requirement and the degree requirement as mentioned below.
You will pay the base rate of the statutory tuition fee when you also meet the study duration requirement as mentioned below.
You will pay the premium rate of the statutory tuition fee when you do not meet the study duration requirement.
In the academic year 2011-2012 the premium rate will be the same as the base rate (= 1713 euro).
In 2012-2013 the premium rate will be: the base rate + 3000 euro.
a. Nationality Requirement:
- You are a national of one the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Surinam, or
- You are not a national of one of the above-mentioned countries but you belong to one of the groups as mentioned in article 2.2 of the WSF 2000 you are entitled to a study grant (from DUO). To determine if you are eligible for such a grant see the nationality check on the website of DUO.
b. Address Requirement:
- You live in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, or one of the following federal states in Germany: North Rhine Westfalia, Lower Saxony or Bremen. When you live in the Netherlands you must be registered at the municipality in the GBA (Municipal Population Registry). When you live in Belgium, Luxemburg or one of the above-mentioned German States, you will have to submit a ‘certificate of residence’ from the municipality where you live.
c. Degree Requirement:
- When you register for a BSc study programme in 2011-2012, you have not previously (after 1990) obtained a bachelor or master degree (or equivalent) at a Dutch University or school of Higher Professional Education.
- When you register for a MSc study programme in 2011-2012, you have not previously (after 1990) obtained a master degree (or equivalent) at a Dutch University or school of Higher Professional Education.
d. Study Duration Requirement ('Langstuderen'):

When you register for a BSc study programme with a statutory study load of 180 ECTS points, you have been registered for a study programme at a Dutch University or school of Higher Professional Education less then 4 study years since 1991, according to the CRIHO (Central Register for Enrolment in Higher Education).

When you register for a MSc study programme with a statutory study load of 120 ECTS points, you have been registered for a Master study programme at a Dutch University or school of Higher Professional Education less then 3 study years since 1991, according to the CRIHO (Central Register for Enrolment in Higher Education).

When you register for a MSc study programme with a statutory study load of 60 ECTS points, you have been registered for a Master study programme at a Dutch University or school of Higher Professional Education less then 2 study years since 1991, according to the CRIHO (Central Register for Enrolment in Higher Education).
