Admission to the Master's programmes
Explanatory notes on the Examination Appeals Board procedure
An applicant who does not meet the admission requirements and is rejected by the Academic Committee on Admissions of Wageningen University will receive notification to this effect as soon as possible. The applicant may lodge an appeal against the decision. In first instance the appeal should be sent to the admissions office. The admission office will consider your case and respond to your appeal. If the result of this contact is not satisfactory, you may follow the procedure as described below:
Applicants can send their appeal to the Examination Appeals Board. The appeal must be done in writing. The applicant must date and sign the appeal, provide his or her name and address and a description of the contested decision and the grounds for the appeal. It is recommended that a copy of the contested decision be included with the appeal. The deadline for lodging an appeal is six weeks after the decision has been sent. The appeal must be sent to:
Wageningen University
Examination Appeals Board
P.O. 9101
6700 HB Wageningen
The Netherlands.
If the appeal is not lodged before the six-week deadline, it will not be allowed. This means that the Examination Appeals Board will not take the appeal into consideration. The authority of the Examination Appeals Board is limited. The Examination Appeals Board does not decide on individual admissions to the programme. The Board's task is solely to judge whether the reasons given in the decision are solid and whether all procedures have been executed with due diligence. If the Examination Appeals Board rules that the decision cannot be upheld, then the Director of the study programme must reconsider the decision.
