for students outside EU / EFTA

There are several options for acquiring fellowships that cover some or all of the costs of a study programme at Wageningen University. Nevertheless, the acquisition of a fellowship is often a lengthy process. Applicants should therefore contact possible donors at a very early stage. 

Grantfinder & Scholarship portal
The Netherlands Student Grantfinder and the Scholarship Portal are online search engines for those who want to study in the Netherlands and are looking for financial aid. The websites containinformation on a range of Dutch scholarships for foreign students.


Examples of grants / fellowships:

The Netherlands Fellowship Programme – NFP
The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes are programmes designed to promote capacity building within organizations in 60 developing countries by providing training and education to their mid-career staff members. The NFP is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation.

In the new procedure, candidates will apply directly to Nuffic through an internet application called Scholarschip OnLine (SOL) and no longer to the Royal Netherlands embassy in their home country. The fellowship application deadline for MSc programmes starting in February 2012 through SOL is open February 1, 2011, the deadline is April 29 4pm CET, 2011.

Information about the deadline for September 2012 is not yet available, please keep an eye on the website of the Nuffic.

Huygens Scholarship Programme
The Dutch Ministry of Education Culture and Science has decided as part of the cuts in education spending that the Huygens Scholarship will be terminated as from 1 January 2012.

Important information:
The termination of the Huygens Scholarship have no consequences for the current fellows. These students can follow and complete their study according Huygens conditions.

The cuts have no consequences for the current application round of the Huygens programme. The selection of the scholarship and the granting of the Huygens scholarship will proceed according to the established procedure.

STUNED Programme
This programme offers fellowships to Indonesian teachers, government officials and professionals with a Bachelor degree (S1) who wish to obtain a Master degree or take postgraduate courses at a Dutch university. Application takes place through the Netherlands Education Centre (NEC) in Jakarta or Surabaya. Note that only official (TOEFL, IELTS) language tests are accepted.

Victor Pinchuk Foundation (Ukraine Nationals)
The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has launched a new project that will fund Ukrainian students to study for a one or two year Master's course in a range of fields at the University of Oxford from 2010/11. Scholarships will fund up to 60% of the total cost of study (up to a maximum of $50,000) in the areas of environmental studies, law and public administration. Other scholarships

Many international organisations, such as various United Nations agencies, the European Union, the World Bank, regional development banks and private foundations, provide scholarships or fellowships for studying abroad through special programmes or as part of projects and loan programmes. Please inquire at the offices of these organisations in your country/region or consult their websites.
