The course is intended for professionals and managers of food processing companies, business advisory and training institutions, standards boards, inspection services; and government, non-government and development agencies. The objective of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to effectively identify and solve the problems faced on a day-to-day basis by food processing enterprises. These concern marketing, the selection of appropriate technologies, food quality and quality assurance systems. This objective is achieved through improving the participants': knowledge and understanding of the complexity of market-driven food supply chains; analytical skills in assessing the problems occurring in food supply chains; motivation in creating quality awareness and commitment to continuous improvement - company- wide; motivation in promoting quality assurance as a tool for good manufacturing practice and the successful marketing of safe and quality products; and ability to apply newly-gained knowledge and skills.
