Prof Leen Hordijk has been appointed director of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria. Although he will not leave Wageningen University, this move meant that he resigned from a number of positions at the university, among which chair of the Environmental Systems Analysis group, director of the Wageningen Institute for Environment and Climate Research (WIMEK), and board member of the Climate Change and Biodiversity Research Program (CCB).

The Environmental Systems Analysis Group would like to invite you to the symposium "Symposium Environmental Systems Analysis - Environmental Research at the Edge of Science and Society", on 8 January 2003, where Prof Leen Hordijk will present an overview of ten years of Environmental Systems Analysis in Wageningen, and other speakers present their views and future prospects.

The symposium will be free. For early registration please fill in the form on http://www.dow.wau.nl/msa/esa_symposium.html.
