The 9th International Symposium on Aquatic Oligochaeta in the Netherlands provides a forum for scientific communication among those who are interested in the various fields of fundamental and applied research on aquatic Oligochaeta. It aims to present and discuss the state of the art in aquatic oligochaete research and to create a stimulatingenvironment where scientific, business and societal fields meet and interact.
The language will be English. The 5 day-programme is divided into a number of aquatic Oligochaeta related topics,such as applied studies, biogeography, ecology, morphology, phylogeny and systematics, physiology, population dynamics, toxicology, and application in waste water treatment.Selected topics will be introduced by an renowned key-note lecturer, who will adress in its field the history, the state of the art and the future challenges. Furthermore the meeting will provide opportunities for posters, workshops, microscopic discussion and other initiatives.A partners programme will be organised.
