The 4th International Workshop on Otiorhynchinae and related root weevils is a continuation of the 3rd Vine Weevil Workshop, held in France in 1999. The workshop will cover recent progress made in the approach of root weevil problems in agriculture and horticulture and include both basic and applied aspects. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together the international expertise from research and practice to promote discussions and exchange of ideas on this important group of insects.
With the extension from vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus) to all weevils in the subfamily Otiorhynchinae and to other related root weevils we intend to improve and widen our knowledge of this group of root weevil species.

Topics of the 4 day-programme will be:

  • Pest Management: biological/chemical control, IPM, natural products, registration issues, semiochemicals
  • Genetics and Behavioural Ecology
  • Bionomics and Taxonomy
  • Modelling and Forecasting
