At the end of April 2003 the starting shot of the 31st edition of the Batavierenrace, held in the Netherlands, will take place. It's a relay-race over 175 km from Nijmegen to Enschede, divided into 25 sections (18 men's sections and 7 women's sections) varying from 3.4 km to 12.3 km. About 290 teams, which means more than 7000 students participate in this race. This number of participants gave us a mention in the Guinness Book of Records. What's unique about this race is the mixture of a competitive as well as a social event.
