Presentation of 'outstanding international alumnus' Dr. Azene Bekele-Tesemma On Wednesday 9 March 2005, at the occasion of the Dies Natalis of Wageningen University, Dr. Azene Bekele-Tesemma will be awarded the ‘Alumnus Award for Innovative Development 2005’ of Wageningen UR.
Dr. Bekele-Tesemma, who works with ICRAF, the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi, obtained his PhD degree in Wageningen in 1997, on basis of his thesis ‘A Participatory Agroforestry Approach for Soil and Water Conservation in Ethiopia’. The study was supervised by Prof. Dr. Stroosnijder and Prof. Dr. Van Maaren.
Taking advantage of his presence in Wageningen, Dr. Azene Bekele-Tesemma has kindly offered to give a presentation entitled ‘The Farmers Competence Initiative: Linking production to value-adding, marketing/ business, institutions, infrastructure and policy’.
