In this unique workshop results of 8 just or almost finished PhD projects on international chains in developing countries will be presented and discussed with (external) reviewers.

Furthermore, a comprehensive framework for analysis will be presented and discussed and senior staff members from Wageningen University, among others Dr Jos Bijman and Dr Ruud Verkerk, will give reflective presentations on quality and governance in developing country food chains.
The papers presented will be brought together in a book ‘Governance Regimes for Quality Management in Tropical Food Chains’, eds. Ruerd Ruben, Tiny van Boekel, Aad van Tilburg and Jacques Trienekens.
The workshop will give in depth insight in current approaches and methodology in research in international food chains. The case studies in the PhD projects cover various product chains in countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The workshop is set up for PhD students, postdocs and other research staff with background in social economic sciences and with special interest in international food chains.
