The subject of this mini-symposium will be Wheat Gluten and Coeliac disease. After that, Teun van Herpen will have the Public Defence of his PhD thesis Coeliac Disease Safe Gluten.

Wageningen UR, PRI: Strategies to develop low CD-toxic wheat (genetics)

-    Prof. R.J. Hamer Professor Cereal Technology, Wageningen University: Removing CD-toxic gluten proteins, keeping quality: is it possible?

-    Prof D. Lafiandra, University of Tuscia, Italy: Durum wheat with bread-making potential

-    Prof P.R. Shewry, Associate Director and Head of Centre for Crop Genetic Improvement, Rothamsted Research, UK: New approaches to determine wheat grain quality

This mini-symposium will end with an lunch. At 13.30 hrs, you're welcome to attend the Public Defence of the PhD thesis of Teun van Herpen at the Aula of Wageningen University. Generaal Foulkesweg 1, Wageningen.
