Organisation:
Graduate School VLAG
The aim of this advanced training course is to acquire knowledge and expertise in the design, conduct and analysis of epidemiologic research on lifestyle and nutritional factors in chronic disease etiology, and in summarizing such evidence for public health purposes.
The course will attract epidemiologists, nutritionists, public health professionals, health care professionals and physicians with some years of research experience. Participants should be familiar with the basic concepts of nutrition and epidemiology.
The programme will be a combination of lectures, practicals and group work. It ranges from study designs and validity of exposure assessment, dietary patterns and diet-health relationships to summarizing and weighing evidence for health policy. Methodological topics are subsequently illustrated by practicals and discussions. Due attention will be given to methodologies and advanced statistics.
