LEI, part of Wageningen UR, organised the 18th Pacioli workshop, held from 5 to 8 September inclusive. This is an international workshop on Micro Economic databases, like Farm Accountancy Data Networks (FADN).
The workshop drew approximately 45 participants from fifteen countries, including representatives from the OECD and DG AGRI. Among the topics discussed by the participants were calculating the effects of changes in European agricultural policy at the level of individual farms, new topics to be added to the databases such as environmental information, calculating production costs, and measuring the sustainability of farms.
Pacioli 18 was held in Ghent, Belgium. The Flemish Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries was responsible for the local organisation. Pacioli takes its name from the Italian monk and scientist Luca de Pacioli.
