Wageningen UR conducts research within the domain of ‘healthy food and living environment’. The scientific quality of Wageningen University is assured by seven graduate schools responsible for carrying out all university research.
Research is conducted by the 93 chair groups of Wageningen University, each under the guidance of a professor. A General Ethics Committee linked to Wageningen University establishes ethical guidelines for research. Financing is provided by the Dutch government, research institutes, such as the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), private foundations and the business community.
