Professional qualities for managing conflict in NRM towards sustainable development
The sector of natural resources management is subject to continuous change; change caused by larger societal processes such as globalising natural resources markets, decentralisation in governance, and climate change. The concept of “competing claims on natural resources” implies rethinking current natural resources management paradigms, reviewing institutional arrangements and reconsidering roles and fields of required expertise of resource managers. The overall aim of the course programme is to contribute to sustainable natural resources management by building capacity to manage (potentially) conflicting claims on natural resources.
