 Sudan is now focusing on recovery, reconstruction and rapid development after the end of civil war in 2007. The Ministry of Agriculture in Sudan invited Wageningen UR to execute a prefeasibility study for the design and implementation of an agropark in Omdurman to help solve the current food security problem. Nico de Groot from Wageningen UR is leading the assignment. The first mission was completed in October with a marketing expert from LEI (Xiaoyong Zhang) and a logistics expert from FBR (Han Soethoudt). A second mission on horticulture and livestock sectors is being prepared.
