Resource, the fortnightly magazine for employees and students at Wageningen UR (University & Research centre) will be published in an English edition alongside the existing Dutch edition with effect from 1 September. This is to meet the needs of the constantly growing international target group.
Wageningen UR - with Wageningen University, Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and nine market-oriented research institutes - is very internationally-focused in both its research and teaching activities. At least a quarter of the students and employees come from outside the Netherlands. There are also a lot of international guests who are spending a period of time in Wageningen within the framework of joint projects. Our international guests come from approximately 105 different countries.
The English-language version of Resource comprises an integral translation of all the Dutch-language articles. The online version of Resource has been available in English for quite some time already. A readers’ survey revealed that many international students and employees prefer to be able to read all the articles in printed form. As far as we know, Resource is the only magazine published by traditional universities, universities of applied sciences and research institutes to be made available in two languages.
